Spending a long weekend while I'm studying in Europe.
The first night spent in the city I arrived fairly late but transportation from the airports was easy and my hotel was close walking distance from Gare du Nord. After dropping my baggage in my room my travel friend and I made our way to the river and walked to the Eiffel Tower as we planned on being out every other night and did not want to miss the beautiful sight. It was pretty cold especially with the wind so we had some late night crepes near the tower then took a metro train back to our hotel.
We slept in a bit later then we had planned the next day but we started it off right with breakfast from a patisserie on our way to the Arc d' Triomphe. Between the little rain showers was a beautifully sunny day and we climbed to the top of the Arc to soak in the view (we also figured we would not have time to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and this would come as a good 2nd). We strolled our way back to the Eiffel Tower for day time pictures then bought passes for a hop on hop off boat ride down the Seine. We took this down to Notre Dame where we spent time admiring the gorgeous cathedral. I have no been in many, but have heard so much of this building, I would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful piece of architecture no matter your religion. While leaving the island on our way back to the hotel it started pouring rain so we dodged in to some souvenir shops and finally made it back to get ready for our night on the town. We went to Club Rex (very short walk from the hotel) which is one of the best clubs for electronic music in Paris. The cover was 15 euro but the atmosphere was very nice and overall a fun experience to be able to say I have been to a dance club in Paris.
Our second day we went to Disneyland Paris Resort. You can read about our day there in my Disney Blog:
Unfortunately we had to leave early on our last morning in Paris but neither of us can wait until our next adventure back in this city of love.
